School's Out for Summer!

We know school is winding down and we hope everyone will have a wonderful summer. In preparation for this fun-filled time of the year, we'd like to remind you that we have some awesome consignment swimwear available now. Plus, we just received an order of Bummis Swimmis - just in time for the pools and beaches!

We just got in shipments of Moby wraps, Fuzzibunz diapers, Usborne Books and Roly Poly snack and sandwich bags! Yay! We're so happy about the variety of colors of Moby wraps and about the super cute story books that are hanging out on our bookshelves, just dieing to be read aloud!

Baby Wearing Class

Don't forget! Our Baby Wearing Class is tonight! It starts at 5:30 and lasts until the questions stop. Sonja will be there to answer your questions and baby wearing conundrums. From what kind of device you should use - backpack, sling or wrap? - to how everything works, The Littlest Birds in-house baby wearing expert and co-owner will answer anything you throw at her.

No need to sign up or lay down any cash. This class is free and open to anyone who is interested. See you tonight!

New Artist in the House!

Welcome Jarrett Rutland to The Littlest Birds store! A local artist who has drawings featured in the newly-released book Alligator Wedding, Jarrett just dropped off a bunch of these books at the store. The story is super-sweet and the drawings are beautifully done.

Alligator Wedding is hanging in our books section and ready for you to read it! Come by to see Jarrett & Nancy Jewell's work!

Well, here's a little summary of the store highlights:-Open House: Happening on May 1st, this event featuring West Asheville businesses will be a great way to start the month! Many businesses in the West Asheville area will be participating by having free drawings to win prizes and store gift certificates. We'll be having a few sales (Livie & Luca shoes to be 25% off, Gro Baby Diapers to be 20% off, all toys originally priced over $25 to be 30% off & all spring clothes to be 15 % Off) and be giving away a $25 gift certificate! How awesome is that?!

Great news everyone! We finally got more Beco Baby Carriers and Kate Quinn spring clothing in! And everything is super cute and super spring-y!

Asheville Twestival Fundraiser!

If you haven't heard of the Twestival, then let us introduce you to it! It's an organization created by the awesome community of dedicated Twitter members who decided to get together to raise money for really great charities around the world. These members have broken up into their respective cities and organized fundraising events at least twice a year, each time picking a different charity to support.

And now it's time for the next Asheville Twestival! It will be held today at Club 828! The festivities begin at 5pm and it keeps on going until 11pm!

And The Littlest Birds is participating this year! We have donated a $25 gift certificate to their raffle! (Which, by the way, is always filled with awesome donations from local stores!)

We're super happy to be a very small part of it this year and we encourage every one to stop by the charity tonight and give your dollars to a very important cause!

New Local Vendor! Sunshine Ducky!

The Littlest Birds loves local! We know how important it is to support our local businesses and at the store we stock lots of local artists' products. Here's a little preview of on of our newest local vendors Sunshine Ducky.


Sunshine Ducky makes hand-sewn bibs with really cute fabrics. The bibs above are so cute and going fast! So get into the store while we still have these hand made goodies!

New Product! Fierce Hugs!

New to our store is Fierce Hugs, which is an incredibly ridiculously adorable organic baby clothing shop. All of their clothing is organic cotton and all of the prints on the clothing have been designed by independent artists. The two women who started the company have a cute little story, one which everyone should check out.

At our store, though, we are selling three of Fierce Hugs' products. We have tees and bodysuits in the Honeybee, Cryptia Dragon and the Pirate prints. Come in to the store and check out the cuteness or read more about them here!

Spring Shoes are In!
We now have new Spring collections of Simple Shoes and Livie & Luca Shoes in! They are all so cute! We all wish that they made these cute shoes in adult sizes! Unfortunately for us adults, they come in sizes 1-10 for Simple 4-10 for Livie & Luca. Questions about sizing? Go here & here to get a better idea of what your little one should be wearing.

Fierce Hugs Are Here!
We recently got in an adorable order of Fierce Hugs Bodysuits and Tees. We currently have in stock the Honeybee bodysuit (pictured here), the Cryptia Dragon bodysuit, and the Pirate bodysuit. We also have tees in these prints. All of Fierce Hugs clothing is organic cotton and the prints are designed by independent artists.

Get ready for spring with Melissa and Doug's new line of products! We just received a shipment of the Sunny Patch Outdoor line of products through Melissa and Doug - and they are so cute!

We received gardening tools from the line, including the Blossom Bright Hoe, the Happy Giddy Shovel and the Blossom Bright Cultivator. Book of the Month: So Easy Baby Food

Each month we like to share with you a book that we think might be interesting and helpful to moms and dads. This month it's So Easy Baby Food, 2nd Ed. by Joan Ahlers and Cheryl Tallman. We actually carry this book in the store in our consignment section! It's a super interesting book that gives a step by step guide of the foods your baby should be eating each month. And it shows how to make the foods for your baby yourself. Come in and check it out at The Littlest Birds store! Find out how to give your baby the right foods without all the added preservatives and chemicals.

New Product! Rockin Green Soap!

The Littlest Birds is trying out a new product for our store this month! And it's the super exciting diaper detergent called Rockin' Green Soap! Rockin' Green Soap is a natural detergent that is especially good at getting yucky, stinky smells out of your baby's cloth diapers!



This detergent comes in many different scents, all of which sound really yummy and good enough to eat! We've ordered some and they should be coming into the store very soon! Hey everyone! It's Amber here from The Littlest Birds! I'm the one who usually writes the blog posts, updates facebook and twitter, and messes around with the website. I just finished up adding some toys to our website and after all this work, I'm really hankering for some feedback.

February Gives You a Kiss!

Tweedle Bugs are In!
We just received an order of Tweedle Bugs One Size Pocket Diapers! Tweedle Bugs are super cheap - they go for only $12.95! They come in dark and light blue, yellow, green, white and cow print!

Rockin' Green Soap!
We're trying out another new product this month, and this one is a detergent that is especially good getting the stink out of your little one's diapers! It's called Rockin' Green Soap and really works! Allison has used it, and she's giving it a big thumbs up! The soap comes in many different scents, including Cherry Lemonade, Vanilla Buttercream and Mango Sorbet. It's not in the store yet, but should be here in another two weeks or sooner.

Get Your New Organic Clothing - From Under The Nile!
Just in: a huge order of new toys and clothing from Under The Nile! We got in some adorable new spring and summer clothing - some really cute onesies and tiny precious dresses and sunhats. We also got new toys, including sea turtles and seahorses! Everything is so adorable. Now, while the the toys are all out in the store, the clothing won't be put out yet. We're waiting till it gets a little bit closer to spring to put out this light weight clothing!
