Wishlist: Melissa & Doug Grocery Carts

Once a week, we write about something we would really like to add to The Littlest Birds store's products. This week it's the Melissa and Doug Grocery Carts. We used to have these awesome carts in the store and they were so popular! Now, all we have is the one in our play area and it always being used by little ones! Unfortunately, Melissa and Doug are currently sold out of these carts and we can't buy anymore! How sad! This is definitley on the top of our wishlist! We hope they make more soon!

Book of the Month: What to Expect...

Each month we like to share with you a book that we think might be interesting and helpful to moms and dads. This month it's What to Expect When You're Expecting, by Heidi Murkoff. This is one of the best-selling pregnancy books that is out there. It's a all-in-one, comprehensive guide for women entering pregnancy. It's answers all your questions and is filled with facts that are helpful to anyone, from the first-time mom to the fifth-time mom. We actually carry many copies of this book in the consignment section of our store. So if you're looking for a good, basic guide then this is it!

Store Favorite: Dancing Alligator

One of our most popular wooden toys in The Littlest Birds store is the Plan Toys Dancing Alligator. This cute little guy is fun, colorful, portable and makes rhythmic click-clack sounds as it is pulled. We recently received a whole shipment of them, but people have already started pulling them off the shelves! So you should definitely come in and check them out - everybody else is!

Wishlist: See Kai Run Shoes

Once a week, we write about something we would really like to add to The Littlest Birds store's products. This week it's See Kai Run Shoes. Created my a mom who needed more comfortable and flexible shoes for her little one, Kai, the shoe brand began in 2004. With the motto "Urban Footwear for First Steps," See Kai Run Shoes are made for newborns all the way up to 8 year-olds and have so many cute designs and styles. And for the month of November they are donating a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair that is sold on their website. How nice!

Littlest Birds Arrival: Haba Toys!

German-based company Haba Toys has come to The Littlest Birds! All of their toys are made of wood and colored with solvent-free water-based stains in beautiful, bright colors. All of which makes these toys safe for children to put in their mouths! Currently, we have in stock their dolls, games, clutching and grasping toys! Come in to check out these new toys!

November Mommy Blogger: Nina

Our mommy blogger for November is Nina, written by local Asheville mom and patron of The Littlest Birds, Carrie Turner. We love reading this blog, which is filled with tidbits about motherhood, love, creativity, food and personal stories about family and her daughter Isadora. Entitled "Nina" because of her daughter's first ever word that she used for food, this is a must read. Go check her blog and read about her cute, funny and endearing stories!
